General Hospital Comings & Goings: Roger Howarth Ends Run as Austin Holt
GH casting updates report Austin Holt (Roger Howarth) is dead and officially off the canvas. Recently, he tried to do the right thing by turning Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) in to the cops. But, when he returned to his cabin in Pautuck to gather evidence against Cyrus, he was tragically shot and killed.
Indeed, Cyrus is the likely suspect. However, that’s obvious so it might be someone else. Soon, Ava Jerome (Maura West) is a person of interest in Austin’s murder. She hated Austin for betraying her so she had the motive.
However, it’s unlikely. Plus, there’s a good chance Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) is the one who shot Austin. No doubt, General Hospital viewers will miss Austin’s portrayer, Roger Howarth. Fans love him, especially as Franco Baldwin and his long-time One Life to Live character Todd Manning.
And he recently spoke out, saying he had a great run on GH. But he might not be gone forever. The character of Franco was killed off, and Roger came back as Austin. So, anything is possible, and he could return to General Hospital someday.
GH Casting News: Nikolas Cassadine Returns?
General Hospital casting news also suspects Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) could be on his way back soon. Austin knew whoever was at the cabin and was surprised to see them. All we could see of the shooter was his feet, and it certainly looked like a man.
Indeed, it would be a fun twist if Nik was the culprit. He might have wanted to stop him from turning his uncle Cyrus in because he needed him. Plus, getting him away from Ava is a bonus. No doubt, he could tell that Austin had strong feelings for Ava on General Hospital.
And now that he’s convinced his mother, Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Francis), that he is alive and she’s back in the States, he may come home also. And he may pop back up soon.
GH Casting News: Gloria Cerullo in the House
More GH casting news puts Gloria Cerullo (Ellen Travolta) at the Quartermaine mansion this week. She surprises her daughter, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer), and her granddaughter, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), by showing up for Thanksgiving.
Of course, they are ecstatic to see Gloria. And it is a real treat for long-time General Hospital fans to have the legacy character back on screen for the first time in 27 years. However, she comes with drama because she’s in trouble and needs help from her family.
