90 Day Fiance: The Other Way couple Holly Weeks and Wayne Cornish are adjusting to being together in South Africa. This week they are attempting to get Holly a new wardrobe. Wayne wanted to find clothes that he found more appropriate and safer for his country.
He explained that the way Holly dresses is too revealing and could put her in danger in South Africa. However, Wayne’s word choices are a huge problem when he tells Holly “People might think she is a prostitute.” This of course causes his fiance to have a meltdown. Leaving fans to wonder if Wayne is truly worried about Holly’s safety or being too controlling.
More South African Safety Concerns for the 90 Day Fiance Couple
The couple met on a Jehovah’s witness dating site. After only a few days visiting for the first time, Wayne proposed. But he refused to leave South Africa or his plumbing business. So, that left Holly, from Utah, making the move across the world.
Despite apprehension from her friends and family about moving to a country where crime rates are through the roof, Holly followed her heart.
Safety became a main storyline for this 90 Day Fiance pair. Wayne’s house has been broken into on multiple occasions and on one occasion, the robber shot his dog. Holly pictured herself living in a gated community, but Wayne apparently didn’t want to leave the home he loved.
Wayne also claimed he had good security set up at his place, and he even thought Holly’s mom would approve of it. But now it seems safety of another kind has become a big concern for Wayne. He feels that Holly is putting herself in danger with her “sexy wardrobe.”
Wayne Says Holly Looks Like a Prostitute
The plan is for the two to go shopping. Wayne said the dresses Holly already owned were too short. Holly and the store clerk start looking at some new options. Wayne disapproved of nearly all the dresses she picked out at the shop.
He said his intention wasn’t for Holly to dress like a nun, but he didn’t want people to think she was single or “a prostitute.” Not surprisingly, Holly was offended and said she was trying to meet him in the middle, but he took it too far.

The 90 Day Fiance star explains to the camera about is culture. “When you dress like that in South Africa with short dresses and short minis, guys are just going to get completely the wrong picture of you, and Holly could potentially put herself in danger,” he told cameras.
“She’s used to her culture where they don’t care how you dress. But in South Africa, you sort of get targeted, so if Holly wants to stay safe in South Africa, she’s definitely going to change the way she dresses.”
Holly Weeks Lashes Out at Wayne Cornish’s Lack of Respect
Holly and fans had a similar reaction to Wayne saying she looked like a s*x worker. “I’m really shocked,” she told cameras. “I’m being a good sport and then he says people would probably think I was a prostitute with my clothing. I’ve given up everything I have to be with this person.”
She continues, “I put everything on the line and like, I really felt betrayed.” She lets him know that he was out of line. “I’m being respectful of you, I think you should be respectful back,” she told him. “But ‘prostitute’ was a bit much.” Holly then bursts into tears.
We get a little more insight about the importance of self-expression from Holly. The issue they are having about her style seems to be bigger than her dressing “too immodestly” for the country. “The thing with moving to a foreign country, you’ve given up so much and you don’t want to lose your identity,” she said.
“So when someone doesn’t like your clothes and tries to change stuff about you, it’s really hard because you don’t want to lose any part of yourself because you’ve already given enough.” Holly insisted that while she could see where Wayne was coming from, she had her own style and was very particular about the way she looked.
