Tristan Thompson‘s baby mama, Maralee Nichols, has refuted baseless claims of a “one night stand” with the NBA star, vehemently denying the accusation on Instagram.
After welcoming their son in December 2021, a paternity lawsuit ensued, with Thompson eventually acknowledging paternity a month later and apologizing for his actions.
Thompson and Nichols settled in December, with him reportedly paying $9,500 monthly in child support. Recently celebrating her child’s second birthday, Nichols shared moments on Instagram, while Thompson remained publicly silent about the occasion.
Maralee Nichols Says Claims That She Was A ‘One Night Stand’ Are ‘False And Defamatory’
Nichols, who shares a two-year-old son, Theo, with Thompson, responded to the now-deleted comment on her recent Instagram post accusing her of having a “one night stand” with the NBA star.
She vehemently denied the allegation: “I was definitely not a one-night stand. That’s a false and defamatory statement you’re making about me.”
The “one night stand” comment was made under a post where the media personality shared a series of photos and a clip showcasing her in a stunning backless gold dress and open-toe heels. In the caption, she wrote, “December is my favorite month. Sagittarius season and Christmas.”
Tristan Thompson Takes ‘Full Responsibility’ For For The Paternity Of His Son Theo
After the birth of their son Theo in December 2021, Nichols found herself in a paternity legal battle against Thompson, whom she had sued for child support.
In January 2022, Thompson publicly acknowledged his paternity of Theo and issued an apology for his actions while confessing to cheating on his then-girlfriend, Khloe Kardashian.
The Basketball pro expressed remorse on his Instagram Stories, writing: “I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son. I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal, both publicly and privately.”
He continued: “Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you.”
Before his apology, Nichols, in an interview with E! News, revealed that Thompson misrepresented the status of his relationship with Kardashian. “He told me he was single and co-parenting,” she said. “I would never have gotten involved with Tristan if I thought he was in a relationship.” She also alleged Thompson offered her $75,000 for silence about their son.
Tristan Thompson Pays $9,500 In Monthly Child Support To Maralee Nichols
According to TMZ, Nichols and Thompson reached a settlement in their paternity lawsuit in December last year, resulting in the NBA player paying $9,500 monthly in child support for their son, Theo. Nichols has sole custody, and Thompson is reportedly not actively involved in Theo’s life.
Just recently, Nichols celebrated her son Theo’s second birthday, sharing glimpses from the train-themed festivities on her Instagram stories.
One adorable snapshot captured Theo wearing a train conductor’s hat, white shirt, and overalls. In another heartwarming moment, the fitness model embraced Theo, who reached for balloons forming the words “Chugga Chugga Two Two” on a wall.
The mother-of-one captioned the image with “Theo’s 2nd birthday” and a balloon emoji. Interestingly, Thompson made no public acknowledgment of Theo’s birthday. However, in July, Thompson publicly extended birthday wishes to his son Tatum, whom he shares with Kardashian, on social media, referring to him as his “future king.”
Tristan Thompson Accused Of Not Paying Child Support By His Son, Prince’s Aunt
Aside from Theo, the basketball player has children from previous relationships, including True and Tatum with Khloe Kardashian and Prince with Jordan Craig.
Earlier this year, Prince’s aunt, Kai Cyre, accused Thompson of being an absentee father and failing to pay child support, alleging negligence in his son’s education.
“Tristan has not paid the child support in a very long time and has stopped paying Prince’s school tuition,” she claimed, adding that he “hasn’t even inquired where Prince goes to school now.”
The disgruntled aunt further stated, per Daily Mail, “Regardless, stepping up for your son is not all about money it’s about the time spent. [Tristan] you are NOT a good father if you can’t be a good father to ALL of your children.”
