SlickPic Photography Challenge: Rule of Thirds

SlickPic Photography Challenge: Rule of Thirds

Another week, another photography challenge! Here’s one that you can tackle in the next few days. For the 33rd week of their 52-week Photo Challenge, the folks of SlickPic want us to use the power of Rule of Thirds to create impactful photos. If you’re ready, it’s time to refill your creative juices and put your photography skills to the test.

In this challenge, the task is to capture subjects in the fundamental composition technique, which is among the first that photographers learn. In a nutshell, it involves dividing the frame into nine equal parts and positioning the subject on the points where the vertical and horizontal lines intersect. This makes the composition more dynamic and engaging, whatever the genre or subject.

To help inspire you with some tips and ideas, we suggest checking out our primer on the Rule of Thirds, as well as some useful tips on how to use and break the rule from Adobe. In case you’re just joining, we also encourage you to check out the full info on the 52-week Challenge.
