The Oppo Find X5 launched way back in spring 2022, which means the launch of the next generation – the Find X6 and Find X6 Pro – is fast approaching.
Leaks have begun already, as have the first few official announcements, and we think we know a little about the chipsets, cameras, and displays of the two flagship phones expected next year.
Here’s all we know so far about the Oppo Find X6 series.
When will the Oppo Find X6 be released?
Oppo has confirmed the Find X6 Pro will launch on 21 March at 14:00 Chinese time.
It’s not clear if it will just be the Pro model or a whole series of phones, but Oppo’s Chinese web shop is listing an ‘Oppo Find X6 Pro’ with instruction to ‘stay tuned’.
Leaker Ice Universe also claims that the Find X6 Pro specifically will not see a global release:
This would prove a change in strategy for Oppo. Parent group BBK has taken to releasing phones such as the OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 11 in China earlier than the rest of the world, but it hasn’t yet held back a flagship Find phone from going global.
How much will the Oppo Find X6 cost?
There’s no confirmed pricing on the Find X6 range, so we need to look back at the models that have come before to give us a clue. For ease, we’re breaking them down based by model. First there’s the regular model:
- Oppo Find X5 – £749/€999
- Oppo Find X3 – CNY 4,499 (China only)
Then we get the Pro:
Then the more affordable Lite:
And finally the Neo, though we never actually got a Find X5 Neo, so that line may well be done.
We don’t expect Oppo to stray too far from the pricing of the Find X5 range, which is already competing directly with the likes of Samsung and Xiaomi, though if current inflation trends continue the price may well rise a little.
What will the Oppo Find X6 specs and design be?
Oppo has teased the camera design of the Find X6 Pro in its official listing. The image was also tweeted by Oppo chief product officer Pete Lau:
The image shows a circular camera housing with a silver ring and dot that mimic the focus wheel on a traditional camera lens, though it’s not clear if it actually turns or is just decorative. There’s faux-leather finish to the back of the phone, plus a square window that could well house a periscope lens.
The Oppo Find X2 Pro added an excellent 10x zoom lens that was puzzlingly left off both the Find X3 Pro and Find X5 Pro. It would make a welcome return here.
This official render lines up with a recent full photo leak from prominent tipster Ice Universe (you may have to click to view the full image):
You can see a similar camera module with two other lenses above the periscope telephoto, alongside the Hasselblad branding seen on other Oppo and OnePlus phones recently.
This design is quite a departure from the Terminator T-1000 look of the Find X3 and X5 series. Instead, it looks like the cousin of the OnePlus 11.
The below leak from EvLeaks, who shared this image of a phone that he actually doesn’t name, was assumed by many to be part of the Find X6 line – and quite possibly the Pro model, given what looks to be a periscope lens at the bottom-left of the camera module.

EvLeaks
Given Oppo’s official announcement, this is not the Pro version – but it could be the regular X6, if it ever breaks cover. It could also be a working design for the X6 Pro that will now never see the light of day. We’ll find out soon enough, hopefully.
We’ve gotten a partial glimpse at a similar design in images of what’s allegedly a Find X6 series prototype device spotted in China. GSMArena has the shots of the phone, which we can just about see has an over-sized camera module, large enough to make the whole phone tilt when set down.
In fact, the camera here looks even wider than the one on the render above, stretching all the way across the top of the phone. That suggests either that this is the Pro and the render is of the regular model, or that one of these designs is not quite right.
We’ve since seen a different design entirely though. One Weibo leaker has shared spec sheets of the Find X6 and X6 Pro, each with images of the phone’s back that show large circular camera modules, with a trio of main lenses – a main camera, ultrawide, and periscope below – and an additional depth sensor at the top. The sheets also add that the Pro models will pack an IP68 rating for water-resistance. For now we’re not sure which of these designs to believe is the genuine article.
As for the actual specs, we’ve heard a little about chipsets, and some even officially. Oppo itself has confirmed that it will use the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip in its next Find X series phones – i.e. the Find X6.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that the 8 Gen 2 will appear in every Find X6 handset though. Weibo leaker Digital Agent 007 claims that while the Find X6 Pro will use the 8 Gen 2, the regular Find X6 will use the older 8+ Gen 1. That sounds plausible, and is what’s seen in the spec sheets mentioned above featuring the circular camera design.
It’s possible we’ll see even more variants. The Find X5 Pro also launched in a separate version with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000, at least in China, and according to that same leak we should see the same again with its follow-up, the Dimensity 9200, making an appearance in a separate version of the Find X6 Pro.
In a brief report, the better known leaker Digital Chat Station has also hinted at the displays, suggesting we’ll see a 2K panel on the X6 Pro, and a 1.5K panel on the X6 – a term we’re beginning to see to refer to a 1,220px horizontal resolution.
The Weibo spec sheet leak actually predicts 2K displays for both models however, with a larger 6.82in panel for the Pro and and a smaller 6.74in display in the regular model. Both will reportedly be 120Hz AMOLED.
Then there’s cameras. Again, Digital Chat Station is one of our main sources, reporting that we’ll see a trio of 50Mp sensors on the rear of the Find X6 Pro: the 1in Sony IMX989 for the main camera with OIS (the same sensor found in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, and expected to feature in the Xiaomi 13 Pro), with the IMX890 used for both the ultrawide and the 2.7x optical zoom with OIS – though he’s since added that there’s a chance the IMX766 will instead be used for the telephoto. As for selfies, there’ll be a 32Mp camera using the IMX709 apparently.
Impressively, Digital Chat Station adds that the Find X6 Pro will be capable of recording 4K HDR video in night mode when using the 1in IMX989 sensor, thanks in part to the MariSilicon X2 image processing chip in the phone. That could make this the best phone around for low light video when it launches.
The Weibo spec sheet reports slightly different specs, though they’re similar. Again, all three main rear cameras are tipped to be 50Mp in the Pro, but here every lens will reportedly use the same IMX890 sensor, and they’ll be joined by a ToF depth sensor.
We’ll supposedly see a similar setup on the regular Find X6. Early reports suggested it would use two 50Mp sensors and a 32Mp sensor – the lower resolution likely for the telephoto – but more recently Digital Chat Station has claimed that all three rear cameras will be 50Mp. Here the IMX890 will feature on the main camera, with as-yet unknown sensors for the ultrawide and telephoto. The Weibo sheets fill this out more, suggesting we’ll see an ISOCELL JN1 for the ultrawide and IMX763 for the telephoto.
As for batteries, those leaked spec sheets point to a 5000mAh cell in the Pro model, paired with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless. The regular X6 is only a little less impressive, with a 4800mAh capacity and 80W and 30W charging speeds. Those wired speeds have been all-but confirmed by the phones’ appearance in China’s 3C certification system, though we’re still waiting for more confirmation on the wireless speeds.
