After going through a $2 million renovation, North Loop’s Modist Brewing Co. has officially revealed its brand new event area. The two-level event space also boasts a mezzanine and catwalk that accommodates up to 120 people for private and corporate events.
Minneapolis studio Perkins&Will thoughtfully designed the space, opting to make it inclusive and welcoming, with a celebration of the local community and its creativity at the forefront.
“We intentionally promote and activate spaces that are joyful, places for people to gather, and opportunities to feel that human connection,” said Jennifer Christiaansen, Perkins&Will managing director, in a press release. “The more we can keep people here in the North Loop and engaged with their community, the better.”
The fresh event space channels a “punk rock chic” energy, with bold colors, neon lights, glitter concrete epoxy flooring, and dichroic glass that changes color as you pass by it. High-mirrored ceilings and glass walls separating the event space from the taproom offer a feeling of togetherness, so everyone can feel connected in the Modist culture.
Minneapolis-based Kraus-Anderson led the construction, which began in March of 2023.
“It’s exciting to be part of a construction team on a project that so creatively transforms an underutilized building space for contemporary use in the dynamic North Loop neighborhood,” said Jared Neiers, Kraus-Anderson Project Manager. “Modist Brewing has truly created a fun, unique space that reflects the community and its values.”
Modist will open the renovated space for the public to check out during some open houses:
