Good news! Martha Stewart is NOT canceling Thanksgiving this year. Phew!
After news broke that Martha Stewart was canceling Thanksgiving this year and that her bestie Snoop Dogg was quitting smoking, it may have felt like the world was coming to a strange end. But just a day after Snoop revealed he was not going to quit smoking, Stewart has revealed that she’s not canceling Thanksgiving and all is aligned once again.
Martha Stewart Takes To Instagram To Share Her Thanksgiving Plans
A few days after Stewart, 82, shared that she was canceling her plans to host a Thanksgiving gathering while on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” the lifestyle icon took to social media to reveal her holiday plans.
In a carousel of photos shared on Instagram captioned, “My heartfelt thanksgiving message to everyone this year,” Stewart explains what she’ll be doing this holiday.
“Dear Friends, It’s not true that I gave up Thanksgiving! What I cancelled was the planned gathering at my house due to guest cancellations and new travel plans!” the first slide reads. “Instead, I am busy prepping to bake thirty pies – and I promised to bring a stuffed and roasted 20-pound organic, heritage bird to my friend Stephen Sill’s home to supplement the rest of his buffet.”
Stewart then explained that she’s busy baking, “lemon tarts, cranberry tarts, chocolate pecan pies, pecan pies and pumpkin pies.”
The next slide of her Instagram post shared some more of her upcoming plans that get Stewart out of the kitchen.
“In addition, we are staying home to plant 75 new peonies, dig up hundreds of other peonies for relocation, move dozens of hostas, and finish planting the Spring flowering bulbs,” she explained.
She also mentioned her daughter, Alexis Stewart, and her two children, Jude, 12 and Truman, 11.
“Alexis, Jude and Truman are flying off to California to visit as many of the giant redwoods and metasequoias as possible in three days,” she continued. “I am hoping Jude will photograph those beautiful creatures for me!!”
Stewart also revealed that her colossal chocolate turkey “did not survive storage since October” so she’s melting the chocolate and using it in the chocolate pecan pies she’s baking.
The last slide in Stewart’s Instagram carousel of photos invited fans to send her snaps of their Thanksgiving meals for a future post on her website. She concluded her Thanksgiving information post by saying, “Let’s hope and pray for peace,” after explaining, “our world needs some good news.”
