Sheree Whitfield’s boyfriend, Martell Holt in legal trouble after his estranged ex Melody Holt accused him of child abuse.
Martell Holt Has Some Explaining To Do…
The Love and Marriage Huntsville star has been making headlines lately for dating Whitfield in what many people believe is the worst move that Whitfield can make. But now the attention is pivoting to an alleged abuse allegation.
His estranged ex, Melody Holt made it clear that she was not playing games with Martell when she decided to file a restraining order against the father of five. Apparently, this order of protection had been in place since January 2022.
They were filed in Alabama and showed that Melody was asking for protection from Martell and the four minor children she shares with him. Don’t worry, Martell got his licks in too, he hit back at his estranged wife.
Martell Holt Filed His Own Paperwork
Soon after Melody filed her accusatory paperwork, Martell headed on down to the local courthouse and requested sole physical custody and notified the court that Melody had “violated” clauses made in a March 2021 final order.
Damn, he has had that one in his back pocket for almost half a year. He accused her of not allowing him to communicate with the kids this stemmed from an incident when Martell was in Melody’s area and stopped by to say “goodnight” to the kids.
Melody spoke up at the time and reminded her follows that Martell had actually stopped by unannounced and without permission. Martell also took a moment to touch on the accusations of abuse.
Martell Holt Has Denied The Abuse
Of course, the reality star is sticking up for himself and sharing that the accusations of abuse are false. “The plaintiff has falsely accused the defendant of child abuse in a separate protection from abuse action.” According to Radar Online who dug up the court documents. Martell defended himself.
He claims that Melody only had one reason to make the accusation. “Plaintiff’s accusation comes as she learned this modification action was coming through the reality show both parties are contracted with and sought to pre-empt this filing.”
The order was eventually dismissed in March 2022, one year after their divorce was finalized. Melody maintained her stance. “[Martell’s] discipline and punishment of the children is excessive and abusive.”
Melody Holt Claims The Abuse Was Horrible
Melody detailed some of the ways that her ex-husband has disciplined their children that turned into abuse.
“The Defendant has used objects to hit his children hard enough to draw blood, he has spanked them excessively, and he has used slurs and other insults towards his children as discipline techniques.
she continued. “When this Court restricted the parties’ ability to use corporal punishment on the children pendente lite and ordered the Defendant to participate in the children’s therapy and counseling, he lashed out at this Court in such a way that he was admonished with possible contempt for any future outbursts.”
Eventually, a judge in Alabama signed off that the couple will continue with joint custody. Not the outcome that Melody had hoped for.
