How to get good at street photography

New to street photography and want to know how to get better at it? As with any genre, it requires you to invest a lot of time, practice and effort. Today, we share 10 tips that UK street photographer Roman Fox wished he knew when he first started shooting. From choosing your gear, to learning how to see and improving your compositions, his guide covers things and habits that you can start with anytime.

For example, don’t underestimate the benefit of a good pair of shoes for walking. You’ll be covering miles and miles walking around in search of eye-catching composition. For sure, you won’t be doing a lot of walking once you’ve got blistered feet! Likewise, you’ll need to keep your photography gear as minimal as possible since you don’t want to be walking around lugging clunky and heavy gear.

Also, a big chunk of street photography involves developing keen observation skills. So, don’t underestimate the power of stopping to pay attention and look around for anything interesting within the scene.
