Granting an exclusive interview with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s ‘Andy Cohen Live,” the “Piece By Piece” singer revealed her heart desires in a heart-to-heart session she had with the host on the radio show.

Speaking of her love for the “American Idol” alum since her childhood, she stated, “I’ve never worked with Kelly Clarkson. And I love her so much and I grew up idolizing her.”

She noted her love for Clarkson was so intense, adding, “My first email was littlekelly@yahoo.com with some numbers. I won’t tell you which ones.” Lovato further declared that working with Clarkson is a “life goal” of hers’ but the song in question would have to be perfect.

In her words, “We just have to find the right song. We’ve definitely talked about it in the past, so it’s like not in the works, but it’s a high possibility. It’s just like finding the right song that the both of us can belt on would be dope.”

Aside from being a successful songstress, Lovato, who has been open about her struggles with addiction and mental health, used her platform to launch the Mental Health Fund to help people struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Interestingly, in 2020, the “Heart Attack” singer and Clarkson had an honest conversation about their mental well-being on an episode of “The Kelly Clarkson” show.

Starting on a sweet note, Clarkson began, “I love how open you are about mental health because I have similar issues, and I’ve suffered from depression. I think a lot of people, especially in the creative world or just from childhood, you’ve been trained to just keep going and you can handle it.”

The TV Personality continued, “Especially as a woman, it’s like, ‘Don’t let them see you sweat.’ I just love that you’re open about that because not everybody’s as vulnerable being like that. And I think it’s helpful for your fans.”

Appreciating Clarkson for her sweet words, Lovato pointed out how the “Stronger” crooner was her role model, who helped impact her life and career.

She remarked, “You were like the first idol that I ever had. I wouldn’t be the artist or even the person that I am with being so outspoken and vulnerable and fearless if I hadn’t had you to look up to, so I thank you for that.”

“I looked at you as my idol growing up. You are fearless and courageous and real as f***, you know? I love that about you. When I was younger I always thought to myself, ‘if I ever make it, I want to be like her because she’s real and she’s genuine,”’ Lovato continued.

The host who was going through a tough time during that period after filing for divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock revealed that she’s a work in progress, noting “I’m not all the time. It takes work.”

The singer-turned-actor clarified, “I think everybody looks at us, like even when you overcome something, they’re like, ‘OK, she’s already overcome that.’ I’m like, ‘No, no, no that’s a daily effort in trying to be positive.’ That’s not a given like you’re just over it and you went to some magic therapy session and it’s over.”

The mom of two concluded by telling Lovato, “I think that’s a daily thing you work at and a daily thing that I work out. It’s not easy to always have a spotlight on you and arrows being aimed at you, especially when you are vulnerable and you give people more ammo for all the trolls out there.”
