‘Call Her Daddy’ Host Alex Cooper’s Wedding Planning Is No ‘Scavenger Hunt’ Like Her Engagement

‘Call Her Daddy’ Host Alex Cooper’s Wedding Planning Is No ‘Scavenger Hunt’ Like Her Engagement

Alex Cooper is going all out for her big day!

Months after her man, Matt Kaplan, popped the question in an “incredible” fashion that saw him faking a photoshoot with a magazine, the podcast host has shared details about their impending wedding. As she disclosed, she was sparing no expenses in ensuring that the event reflected her in all its forms and activities, sans the scavenger hunt.

Alex Cooper Had Moments Of Reflection About Her Wedding Location

On Wednesday, August 23, Cooper unveiled a fresh episode of her widely followed podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” titled “My Wedding Planning Disaster.” In this edition, the online influencer openly shared personal insights into the wedding preparation journey, covering the positive and challenging experiences and the less glamorous aspects.

The 29-year-old began the show looking slightly disheveled as she sat in her bathtub, wearing a veil and sipping from a glass of red wine. After disclosing that she is “freaking out” and “having a mental breakdown,” she shared the wedding venues she and Kaplan had contemplated earlier, including places like Utah, London, and Tennessee.

While discussing the possibility of Hawaii as a location, the “Unwell” founder mentioned that she preferred private beaches to avoid any onlookers during their important day. She playfully said:

“I don’t need Uncle Marty on his retirement trip in the background snorkeling belly up holding a f—ing Pina colada in my shot. Matt and I are kissing and there’s that guy, belly up, nice little frosted tips, having a mid-life crisis in the ocean. It’s just not what I want.”

Next, Cooper delved into her guilty pleasure of observing other people’s weddings, emphasizing her desire to avoid having their own wedding “in a place where the ceremony could be observed by the public.”

“We want it to be somewhere that matters to us and we don’t want to cater to our guests,” the podcaster expressed before disclosing that she and her producer bae have decided on a tropical wedding.

However, she was quick to inform viewers, often referred to as the “Daddy Gang,” that she “could be lying and this could change in 30 [minutes] when Matt comes home.” Admitting the way a wedding destination would look in pictures was one of her location checkpoints, she reflected:

“I was wedding planning through the lens of Instagram and magazine coverage of my wedding. I was finding things that weren’t even personal to me. I’m looking for a good photo op. I realized I need to start f**king practicing what I preach…stop making decisions based on what other people are going to see and the photo.”

Copper wrapped up the episode with some much-needed advice to her viewers about doing what they could enjoy their wedding planning and to get zen before she added:

“Because contrary to what everyone writes on the internet and I don’t know if this is going to get backlash for me, I don’t think this should be the best day of your life. I think your marriage should be incredible and you should be looking forward to life, but that day, you’re putting too much pressure on it.”

Back in April, The Blast observed that Cooper had left no stone unturned in recounting the events leading to the moment she encountered her fiancé down on one knee. Getting into the details during an interview, the radio host shared that Kaplan proposed at their Los Angeles residence on March 3, after she was enticed out of the home for a “photoshoot.”

Even though she recalled feeling like the shoot was directionless and “could tell everyone was stalling,” she did not stop it. continued with it. As fate would have it, she later learned that it “was a fake photoshoot that my publicist and Matt set up to keep me out of the house, out of my sweatpants, and in hair, makeup, and nails so I’d feel happy with the photos.”

When she returned to her and Kaplan’s home that evening, it had been transformed into the most romantic view with “candles lit all over, music playing, and a scavenger hunt leading to Matt proposing.” The Boston University alum soon discovered that each room had a set theme, complete with matching momentos and photos.

Upon her arrival in the last room, Cooper was greeted with “a glass of champagne and a card” and a simple directive —  “Meet me down by the Buddha.” The sight she met there is not one she would ever forget, she recounted:

“He got down on one knee and said, “You’re my soulmate, the love of my life. You make me a better man. Please do me the honor of marrying me.” I like, blacked out. I think I said yes at first. It was very surreal.”
