Bachelor Grant Ellis has a message for fans who are critical of his musical abilities.
“When they ask about my singing,” Grant, 31, wrote over a Tuesday, February 4, TikTok video where he lip-synced over the viral audio, “Like, ‘Oh, let’s make fun of the girl who took a risk and put herself out there creatively.’”
At the end of the clip, Grant ducked his head away from the camera. “Be nice yall,” Grant captioned the video.
The comments section was flooded with users praising — and poking fun — at Grant. “We love a self aware king,” one user wrote, while another added, “We forgive you Grant.”

Grant’s musical talents were on full display during the Monday, February 3, episode of The Bachelor. During his first one-on-one date of the season, Grant took contestant Alexe Godin to a closed mall and the pair found a piano. Grant freestyled an original song for Alexe, who praised the lead for his gift.
Grant showed off his creative side again during a group date later on in the episode. Musician Mario, who serenaded the group with his song “Let Me Love You,” told the women they had to write a song for Grant and perform it live in front of a crowd with the help of Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin. Before the women took the stage, Grant surprised his suitors with an original rap.
Despite the musical moments, Grant’s connections with the women appeared to shine through. “I just wanted to start the night off and just say I’m appreciative,” he said ahead of the rose ceremony. “I know exactly what it takes for me to fall in love, and the most important thing is emotional availability. My person is in this room.”
Grant has been tight-lipped about the outcome of his season, but a trailer showed the lead looking truly torn between his final contestants. He explained to Us Weekly in January that he tends to be a “really decisive person,” just not when it “comes to matters of the heart.”

“So even from night one, I didn’t wanna send people home, but it’s something I had to do,” Grant told Us. “And then when you couple that with the amazing women that are on the season, it becomes really hard. And then you add the absence and the lack of time that you have — it’s definitely difficult.”
As the show airs, Grant teased to Us that he’s in a good place. “I’m happy with life and I’m happy with the way that things are going and the way that things played out,” he said.
