She was reportedly released on July 3 from the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California. Per the Federal Bureau of Prisons database, she started her three-year sentence earlier in September 2021.

Mack had previously pleaded guilty to the charges back in 2021. She faced 14 to 17 and a half years in prison before being handed a three-year sentence for her role in recruiting women to NXIVM. Women were trafficked and abused in the sex cult by leader Keith Raniere. Mack was also handed a $20,000 fine and 1,000 hours of community service.

Before Mack’s sentencing two years ago, Raniere received 120 years in prison for sex trafficking and other crimes. The crimes of NXIVM and leader Keith Raniere were later documented in the HBO true crime docuseries, “The Vow,” which debuted in August 2020. A follow-up for “The Vow” later aired in 2022.

Mack was arrested in April 2018 following a raid by federal authorities on the NXIVM headquarters in Albany, New York, in March 2018. In a letter filed in court before her sentencing, Mack wrote to “those who my actions have harmed.” She said she threw herself into Raniere’s teachings, “everything I had.”

Mack also wrote her regrets and an apology in her letter. It read, “It is now of paramount importance for me to say, from the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry. This was the biggest mistake and regret of my life.”

Mack is best known for her role as Chloe Sullivan in the hit Superman series, “Smallville, ” which ran from 2001 to 2011. Chloe Sullivan was a friend and love interest of Tom Welling’s Clark Kent, the future Superman, throughout the series. She was a main character throughout the series and appeared in over 200 episodes. Besides Welling as Clark Kent, Mack appeared in more attacks and had more screen time than any other character in the series. She also later directed two episodes of the show, one in Season 8 and another later in Season 9.

She also appeared in multiple episodes of the hit FX series, “Wilfred,” and she voiced Power Girl in the animated movie, “Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.”

Speaking to Hollywood Life in May 2019, a former NXVIM publicist, Frank Perlato, said that a “spell has been broken for Allison” and that she was “no longer” under Raniere’s “control.” Additionally, Sarah Edmondson, another former member, and whistleblower of the NXIVM cult, told Hollywood Life in October 2019 her belief that Mack was set up to take the fall by the cult. Edmondson also expressed that she was using Mack’s initials in a ritual branding to try and ruin her. Edmondson wrote about her experiences in the tell-all memoir, “Scarred.”

As previously reported by The Blast, Mack will still be supervised for three more years following her release.
