Adam Richman Teams Up With Hormel Pepperoni For A Delicious Holiday!

Who doesn’t love a good pepperoni pizza? TV personality Adam Richman certainly does, and he wants everyone to know about a fun holiday coming up!

Break out the pepperoni and celebrate National Pepperoni Pizza Day on September 20! (Now that’s a holiday most of us can get behind!) Richman wants to help people find a unique way to celebrate the day, so he offered up some great ideas that all revolve around Hormel Pepperoni.

Richman teamed up with Hormel Pepperoni to announce their first online Pepperoni Pizza Pop Up Shop to help pepperoni lovers get ready to celebrate their love of pepperoni pizza. From September 13-20, new limited-edition items will be available for purchase through the Pepperoni Pizza Pop-Up Shop. Unique items such as home decor, pepperoni rims for your car, wearables, games, and other exciting pepperoni-themed things will be available to help you celebrate significantly.

For Richman, this partnership was all about love.

“It’s a food I really and truly genuinely love. I legit have Hormel Pepperoni in my fridge all the time,” he told The Blast exclusively. “A slice of pepperoni pizza is so iconic. If you go to your emojis and type in pizza, it’s pepperoni. It’s a beautiful visual contrast and a flavor contrast. We all love it. We all appreciate it. And there’s a pepperoni pizza slice everywhere in the world.”

Richman explained that while many think pepperoni originated by Italians, it’s an American creation created by Hormel in 1915, making it the 108th anniversary. 

The TV personality said he feels that not many even realize that National Pepperoni Pizza Day exists, so he wants to give some helpful tips on ways people can celebrate the tasty day.

“It’s cool because it’s a food I think you associate with indulgence, fun, parties, community, and sharing. Nearly every human being in this country has eaten a slice of pepperoni pizza,” he said enthusiastically. “The beating a slice is theay to celebrate National Pepperoni Pizza Day is to an make your own, you can get it, you can throw it in a salad, you can just have it with some cheese and some olives.”

He went on to say that “because pepperoni is super versatile and because it is American, you can use it in place of any given sausage in any recipe so you can put it into cornbread, you can put it on a sandwich, you can slice it into an omelet, into a salad, and of course, go to the pop-up shop.”

Adam Richman Talks “Man Vs. Food” And When He Knew He Made It

Richman shared some background on when he knew he made it in the industry and the life-changing moment for him. He explained that his career took off during season one of “Man vs. Food.”

“I try to approach every fan, interaction, and interview with profound gratitude. It takes 15 years to be an overnight success,” he told The Blast. “We were only bought for ten episodes. Three episodes in, they bought eight more based on how focus groups liked it. The Portland episode was the first time anyone asked me for a photo. We filmed one of the most painful hot wing challenges on Earth in Santa Clara, and people lined up for a photo with me. That was surreal because nobody wanted me to sign a parking ticket earlier that year.” 

But what was even more profound for Richman was when the moment was more about his mother.

“The moment that was most gratifying, cause my whole life is a love letter to my mom because she went without so I could have my whole life, and she rubbed two nickels together to make a dollar,” he continued. “So when I finally had the money to not only take her to a Broadway show, but to take a cab, cause we were always mass transit cause I couldn’t afford it, and I could get a car to take us out to a nice dinner and front row tickets to ‘Jersey Boys’ and one of the actors of ‘Jersey Boys’ recognized me from TV, it wasn’t so much the moment for me, but the moment of my mom feeling that.”
