“Teletubbies” star Jessica Smith is pregnant with a ‘sun baby’ of her own.
The former child actress, who is now in her late twenties, took to Instagram to announce that she is expecting her first child with Ricky Latham.

The former “Teletubbies” actress took to social media to announce that she is currently pregnant and expecting her first child — feel old yet?
“When two becomes three ?,” she captioned a photo of a sonogram, showing their newborn baby growing inside of her belly.
Fans immediately flooded the comments, congratulating the former sun baby actress.
“The Teletubbies sun baby is having her own sun baby ?,” one fan commented, as another wrote, “Congratulations I remember you being the sun in Teletubbies very very happy for you you deserve so much happiness”.
A third said exactly what we all were thinking.. “un baby having a baby…damn I’m old af….congratulations mate???,” they said.
While another fan commented, “Congrats for you guys enjoy the experience together and a big hug from Hollland”.
Jessica Smith Comes Forward As Sun Baby On ‘Teletubbies’
Back in 2014, Smith finally came forward to reveal she was the iconic Sun Baby on “Teletubbies”.
“I used to hide it, but after a lot of encouragement from my friends at university, I’ve gained the confidence to come out with it. I am the sun from Teletubbies,” she wrote on Facebook at the time.
“When I was about 9 months old, my mum took me for a routine checkup at the local hospital. The midwife there had been contacted by a local production company who were looking for a smiley baby, and the midwife asked if my name, along with all the baby’s [sic] that way, could be submitted,” she continued before adding, “From then I had to go through auditions and short lists until they finally picked one person, ME!”
But how did Smith get that iconic smile and laugh we saw in the show? One simple item… A teddy bear.
“While recording my dad held a teddy bear behind the camera to get me to laugh,” she explained, adding, “and rolled a toy racing car to get me to look down at the camera, it obviously worked.”

Following the exciting pregnancy announcement, Smith spoke to Entertainment Tonight, expressing her gratitude.
“I am feeling overwhelmed with the amount of love I am receiving from people around the world,” she said. “I have received countless messages congratulating me and wishing us well for the future.”
The “Teletubbies” actress also commented on how grateful she is for her fans. “I am still overwhelmed with the amount of people who have watched and are watching Teletubbies,” she said adding, “the amount of messages I receive and hearing the stories told by people around the world.”
Smith said she does plan to bring her child into her past by showing her “Teletubbies” when she is old enough. “She will be watching my version of ‘Teletubbies’,” she told ET.
Smith is expecting a baby girl in early January 2024.
