The time has finally arrived – the first bonfire of season 5 of “Temptation Island.”
For the first bonfire of the season, the men and women have their own separate bonfires with host Mark L. Walberg. It’s the first time the couples get to see a glimpse into what their other half has been doing while apart. And man, does that burn for some…
The Girls Walked Into The Bonfire With Anxiety And Worry Written All Over Their Faces!
Walberg gave the ladies a heads up about the first bonfire. As they all looked concerned about what they’re about to see, Walberg gives a little encouragement.
“I’m letting you know that bonfires are real to me,” Walberg said. “Whatever we see, we can handle.”
As the four women sat there awaiting their possible fates, the nerves were apparent in all of them. First up, Kaitlin. She watched a clip of Hall talking to the guys about wanting a family and about how Makayla wants kids. She didn’t seem too shocked to hear what he had to say about the topic.
Kaitlin explained that she’s just not ready to start a family, but will be in maybe three or four years. She wants both a career and a relationship, which isn’t really asking too much.
“You can have both, but can you have both with Hall?” Walberg pondered.
Paris was next. The clip she was faced with was a bit more physical. She watched Nafeesah giving her man a lap dance, and then heard him say he doesn’t want to think about Paris and just have some fun.
“Of course, he doesn’t want to think about me because I feel like I bully him all the time and always complain about everything he does,” she admitted. But she justified her thought by saying she feels that he needs to be treated that way to learn.
“I just want to be happy,” she said. “Having a man that protects me.”
And then a lesson about herself came to the surface. She revealed that she feels like she has to please the man she’s dating and when she doesn’t please him, she gets mad and wants to run away and fight him. It was a full-on therapy session trying to get to the bottom of why things are the way they are for her.
Time to move onto Vanessa. She had to watch the clip of Rob in the pool talking about how she treats him. (You know, the scene where he snaps and yells at Nafeesah for talking over him.) She also heard him say that he’s almost entirely sure he will be leaving the island alone. Time for some real anger to enter the chat…
“The nerve. Mark, I will walk over to that house and I will knock him upside the head with a shoe,” she said aggressively.
She also revealed that she’s mad that he’s come to that conclusion already and feels betrayed.
Last but not least, Marisela’s turn to see what Christopher was up to while they are apart.
“I’m not where I want to be. I’m not mentally, emotionally, financially, I’m not where I want to be,” she said after watching a clip of Christopher talking about Marisela and a clip of him dancing with one of the singles.
Then a mini breakthrough happened when Walberg asked if she’s looking for his approval. She said, yes, a lot.
“I’m always working for me to be what he wants me to be,” she said, to which Walberg said, “You hear that, right?” She responded, “I do.” Marisela said she knows she self-sabotages a lot.
Time For The Guys To Get Uncomfortably Heated At Their Bonfire…But Not Everyone Just Yet
Up first, Christopher. He watched a clip of Marisela crying about being alone and how she’s scared of disappointing everyone back at home.
“I saw Marisela being real with herself and real with her feelings. And she has no choice but to detach herself,” Christopher said. “And I’m happy that she’s having that time.”
He further went into the topic of Marisela wanting her free time and not needing to live by any set of rules, although, she has rules for him to follow.
“It’s really, I feel, an internal conflict,” he explained.
Great was next, and what a moment of realization for him. He had to watch a clip of Paris telling the girls that she’s ready to risk it all and if there weren’t cameras everywhere, she would do something to one of the guys (we’ll leave that one up to your wildest imagination).
And that’s where the episode ends…cliffhanger for sure!
Let’s Rewind A Bit…
Before we all got a closeup view of what was being revealed during each of the bonfires, we had the chance to see the second date. Some chose to have a second date with the person they had their first date with, and others chose a new partner for the day.
Marisela went on a second date with Sebastian, Paris asked Tahjicc, Great asked Tamie, and Hall and Makayla went on their second date together.
The date included quads and bike riding. Very little actually happened on the second dates but a few things were revealed.
Paris, who said she liked Tahjicc “too much,” sort of changed her tune after the date saying that Christian was a better date.
Hall and Makayla connected a bit more. “I really want Makayla to walk in with the idea that I have a fiancé because I really want her to continue to get to know me for me,” he said.
Hall told Makayla that while he feels Kaitlin is the love of his life, meeting her now makes it hard. She said if he wasn’t engaged, she would let her wall down. Seems like they are two to watch closely because things are certainly heating up between them.
